SMGF Overview
The Singapore Math Global Finals (SMGF) is an elite international competition organized by SIMCC. Designed for Grades 1 to 10 (Primary 1 to Secondary 4), it challenges students to apply critical thinking and non-routine problem-solving skills to compete on a global stage.
To be eligible to participate, students must be in the top-performing tier of prior SIMCC math olympiad competitions. This typically includes top winners of the Singapore Math Challenge (SMC), SASMO, or AMO.
The competition consists of a 90-minute online paper tailored to the student’s current grade level. Each test includes 31 questions with a total of 100 marks broken down as follows:
- Section A: 15 Multiple Choice Questions (2 points each, 30 marks)
- Section B: 10 Non-routine/Free Response Questions (4 points each, 40 marks)
- Section C: 6 Non-routine/Free Response Questions (5 points each, 30 marks)
Note: No points are deducted for wrong answers.
Students compete for Overall Championship titles, with awards split among the top three spots per grade level. Top performers receive global recognition, digital or physical medals/trophies, and are celebrated in online award ceremonies.
